What are the minimum requirements to use Hypp.TV Media Player?

  • .Net Framework 2.0 and above (Click here to install)
  • Latest Adobe Flash Player (Click here to install)
  • Windows Media Player 9 or above (Click here to install)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above OR Firefox. (Click here to install the add-on first)
  • Please ensure your anti-virus software Allow or Permit our Hypp.TV player to run correctly

I am trying to install using Mozilla Firefox

The Hypp.TV application deployment technology is based on ClickOnce developed by Microsoft. In order to allow Mozilla Firefox to run a .NET ClickOnce application you need to install an add-on first from here. Alternatively please use Internet Explorer 6.0 and above instead to install Hypp.TV.

Hypp.TV does not download when I click the "Watch Now" button.

There are various reasons why the Hypp.TV installation may fail to launch. If you are using Vista , you may want to temporary disable or turn off the User Account Control (UAC) before trying to install again. A step-by-step on how to disable the UAC can be found here. Alternatively you can manually download the Hypp.TV installation files from here. Once downloaded, you need to unzip the file Unzip Hypp.TV.exe into a temporary folder (eg. D:\temp) and click Setup.exe to install.

I can run Hypp.TV previously but now the software won't launch,what should I do?

There are various reasons why the Hypp.TV Media Player may crash or fail to launch. If you can't find a solution elsewhere in this FAQ list, please contact our webmaster. Alternatively, you may want to try uninstalling Hypp.TV from your Control Panel à Add Remove Software and re-install again.

A black screen appears immediately when I start up Hypp.TV

Some content and service partners utilize Flash player application. Please check if you have the latest Flash player installed here.

I receive a message saying “The server is busy, please try again!” or “Notifications -1”

We are constantly optimizing our servers and network resources during this Beta stage to improve the quality of the Hypp.TV experience. In some cases our servers may be too busy to handle your request at that particular moment. In this case, you may want to give it another try after a few minutes.

I can't see any video! What do I do?

No video can be caused by either slow connection or restricted access.

To resolve slow connection, it is best to subscribe to Streamyx 1.0Mbps service or faster.

If your anti-virus software detect our “Net TV Transfer Engine” or “tva.exe” the first time you run Hypp.TV Media Player, please click Allow or Permit to allow Hypp.TV Media Player to run correctly.

If you still can't access, please check that your firewall or router is configured to allow access by Hypp.TV Media Player. In particular, make sure that the following are enabled:

TCP & UDP access, in & outbound, from port 0 to 60000.

In addition, check that your network has DNS servers configured – Hypp.TV Media Player makes regular DNS requests like any other application.

It is common that most Companies restrict access or block video streaming preventing Hypp.TV from working. If this is the case, it's time to request your Boss to allow access.

Does Hypp.TV run on Windows Vista ?

Yes. You will need an administrator password to install Hypp.TV, once installed it should work fine for all users. We are planning to develop for the Apple platform in the future as well.
